Managing Director
Jonathan Williams CMIOSH
Jonathan is an experienced Chartered Safety Practitioner (CMIOSH) with a wealth of experience gained over the last 17 years within dedicated health & safety roles. Jonathan’s involvement in health & safety came at an early age when he was fortunate to secure a position as Trainee Health & Safety Auditor within a National Waste Management and Recycling Business.
Jonathan worked his way up the ranks to Health & Safety Advisor before the Company was sold. Fortunately Jonathan was retained by the Parent Company and was promoted to Health & Safety Manager with health & safety responsibility for 12 concrete manufacturing plants in Central London and 9 quarry sites between Coventry and the Dorset coast. During his time there Jonathan studied for his NEBOSH National General Certificate and NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Safety and Health. Following this Jonathan moved into Consultancy with a successful 9 years at Mentor Services, a Business Consultancy provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
He set up Direct Safety Solutions in 2007.

Health and Safety Director
Rob Carlin CMIOSH
Rob is a Chartered Safety Practitioner with over 14 years experience in full time H&S roles across a variety of industries.
Previous roles in business development and operational functions have provided a wealth of experience in implementing improvement strategies and adapting to new processes. This experience allows Rob to connect with our clients and coach them through successful change programs.
Rob has worked for small, medium size and multinational organisations and was instrumental in the development and delivery of an industry safety passport scheme recognised throughout the UK outdoor advertising sector. Recent experience has come from working as a Safety Manager in a national distribution warehouse for a retail business with daily deliveries to over 200 branches.
Rob completed the NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma in 2008, the NEBOSH Fire Risk Management in 2010 and became a Chartered Member of IOSH in 2011.
Rob was promoted to his current Health and Safety Director post in June 2018, after making a tremendous impact on all aspects of the business since joining in 2015.

Health and Safety Consultant
Martin Monaghan CMIOSH
Martin joined the team as an experienced Chartered Safety Practitioner (CMIOSH) with over 18 years’ experience in Health and Safety roles. He was also previously an Area Manager and a Transport Manager in the motor vehicle repair and recovery industry in a career spanning many years at the AA
Having joined the Army at 16 and qualifying as a vehicle mechanic, Martin has been on many tours of duty around the world.
Martin appreciates that health and safety is something which needs to be incorporated into the job, without being perceived as a burden to anyone within the organisation. Working in a large company has given Martin the opportunity to get involved in various industries including Healthcare, Vehicle Repair Centres, Call Centres, Cruise Ships, Road Haulage, Gas and Home Repair sectors.
Martin recognises that Direct Safety Solutions have the “ideal model” in providing practical and realistic solutions to assist companies in the way they manage and implement health and safety to the frontline, and he comments “It is refreshing to work with people who are all caring and passionate about what they do. Direct Safety Solutions has a great depth and breadth of knowledge which is very reassuring”.

Operations Director
Mel Williams
After 15 years of having a very successful career within the pharmaceutical industry, Melanie made the decision to work within the family business. She brought with her a wealth of commercial acumen, and the ability to build strong relationships with our customer base. Melanie oversees the operations within the organisation, and ensures there is a solid and valued partnership between ourselves and our clients. Recently, she has enrolled on a course to attain a NEBOSH Certificate, to further enhance her knowledge in the realm of health and safety.

Office Manager
Debbie Wellings
Debbie’s role within Direct Safety Solutions began in August 2014. Prior to that she worked at The Priory Hospital undertaking various roles including Health Screening Co – Ordinator and Consulting Suites Receptionist.
The fast paced nature of working within a hospital environment gave her the perfect skill set to work at Direct Safety Solutions, as the role is very busy, reactive and unpredictable She has achieved Level 2 in Health & Safety, which has been useful when preparing documents, and also in understand the very important health & safety legal framework.
Her 2 boys keep her very busy, especially running a taxi service for them! She has 2 Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs, who love long walks, keeping her fit – but she is also partial to a bit of gardening, horse riding and chasing her hens around the garden!

Health and Safety Consultant
Gareth Law Grad IOSH MIIRSM
Previously to Gareth joining our team he had held Senior Management roles in the Civil Engineering and Construction Industry for 12 Years. Bringing with him a wealth of experience, including collaborating with local authorities and multi-national organisations, ensuring Health and Safety is always maintained as a priority for his team and theirs.
As well as being a qualified Health and Safety Professional, he also holds an International Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage. This qualification has enabled him to fulfil the role of nominated Transport Manager for his previous employees for a number of years.
When developing as a Health and Safety Professional, Gareth obtained his Level 3 Award in Education and Training to enable him to teach in further education. The award supports his competency in delivering training to a nationally recognised standard, ensuring our clients are competently supported in every aspect of our service
When not at work, Gareth dedicates a portion of his time supporting a local Animal Welfare Charity, providing transport around the UK rescuing and delivering dogs to their new adoptive homes
